Kitematic on the Mac I use started erroring out when pulling Docker images and stopped working properly
I suspect the symptom started after I upgraded Docker some time ago and bumped Kitematic’s version along with it.

This error appears just as the image download from Docker Hub is about to finish.
When this error appears it tells you to File Ticket on Github, but even after going to Github I do not really understand it
The solution
According to the information in Kitematic says “context canceled” · Issue #4214 · docker/kitematic , this symptom shows up on the latest version of Kitematic, so lowering the version seems to be the way to go.
In my case, downgrading from the latest 0.17.9 to 0.17.3 made it start up properly again. (It might well work without going all the way down to 0.17.3)
However, the images and containers pulled on 0.17.9 stopped being shown, so watch out for that! The path may have changed.
